After Ex Machina finished last year, there have not been any more updates from television and comic books writer Brian K. Vaughan, until now. I think we are more than ready to welcome back this acclaimed writer of “Y: The Last Man” and “Runaways” to the comic book world with his announced return of a brand new series, “Saga,” at last week’s San Diego Comic Con International.

After disappearing for awhile, artist Dale Keown is ready to hit the comic book art again by penciling the interior of the final issue of Image Comics and Top Cow Productions’ ARTIFACTS #13. We already know that the series will have qualified writer Ron Marz and various artists including Jeremy Haun; however with Keown joining the foray, it should bring some fresh air to the final. I really hope so!
Good news is coming for Liberty Meadows‘ fans; Frank Cho is currently working on issue #38 of Liberty Meadows and it will be out in no time or before the end of the year! This exhilarating news was confirmed by Frank Cho on his personal blog this week, explaining how he got his media rights back from Sony.
Liberty Meadows was originally a newspaper strip, but Cho’s vivid creativity with suggestive content was constantly at odds with the editorial standard. In 2001, Cho ended the syndication and moved to Image Comics. Since 2004, Liberty Meadows has been on hiatus.
Image Comics is set to release issue #175 of Savage Dragon, a comic series created by Erik Larsen. Since Savage Dragon has become “this weird, crazy-roller coaster ride” over the past several issues, this upcoming installment, a hefty 48-pages, will start a new adventure in space with Dragon’s alien race. This could be a landmark issue, but don’t tell Larsen.
“People have been wanting to see a Savage Dragon space adventure forever,” exclaimed Larsen. “It’s him reunited with the alien race that he is from and then we’re going up and doing space stuff. For readers, this has been something they’ve wanted to see for a long, long time. It’s a big payoff for those guys.”
